BALR. was founded in 2013 and in recent years we have grown into an international lifestyle brand that is known for our high-quality fashion, travel products and accessories for men. At our HQ in the Houthaven in Amsterdam, you will work with a team of Design & Product Developers to take the latest trends and insights and create relevant seasonal collections. For this team we are looking for an all-round Fashion Designer who understands all aspects of design to take our product to the next level.


What are you going to do?

As a Fashion Designer at BALR. your goal is to create inspiring and out-of-the-box collections, in-sync with our target audience. Working with the team to help create a seasonal brief you will then drive the design process from moodboards to designs to finalizing tech packs and signing off samples. You will do this together with a team of Designers and Product Developers. You report to the Head of Product.


What are your responsibilities?

  • Creating designs in various product groups, from briefing, to concept and final design;

  • Ownership of the design collections, colour proposals, artworks and tech packs;

  • Take ownership of the entire design process together with the Design and PD team;

  • Supporting departments such as Content and E-commerce with regard to visuals, shoots, etc;

  • Actively track and proactively share knowledge with the team on fashion trends and fabrics.

Requirements

Who are you?

BALR. is looking for an all-round Fashion Designer who breathes fashion and lifestyle. It is important that you have a feeling for the brand and that you can empathize with the story we are telling. In addition, you feel at home in the speed and dynamics of a scale-up. You have a lot of freedom and responsibility and are not afraid to show your creativity. Must be based in Amsterdam or surrounding area. 

  • Completed HBO education in the direction of Fashion Design (AMFI, Artemis or similar);

  • 4 years of experience as a Designer, experience in product development is an advantage;

  • Experience with a brand in a similar segment to BALR.;

  • Technical knowledge of fabrics and size specifications;

  • Experience as an all-round designer with a great eye for on trend product;

  • Good command of Adobe packages, especially Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator;

  • You have an excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing, Dutch is a huge pre;

  • You are available full-time and you live in the Amsterdam area.
